I am a Front-End Engineer because of a desire to help end-users achieve their goals. In my work I enjoy working with JavaScript, thinking about data representation, and thinking about layouts for responsive design. Before transitioning to software development, I took many online courses, and coding bootcamp because I value competency. I was a Technical Writer in Software for a decade. I wrote for users, administrators, developers. In addition to writing online help and API docs, I helped with usability testing and QA.
Worked remotely with another developer on a FB copy project + translation feature. Tech stack: Node, Express, MongoDB, React, Material-UI, Google Translation API, Sendgrid API, Socket.io. I worked across the stack on the chat, translation, and invitation creation/email features.
Worked alongside a small Front-End Development group. Contributed React components to a feature migration project (custom form builder). Also used Redux, Sass, Docz. Made bug fixes and performed code reviews. (full-time returnship)
Analyzed code for student coding projects (Front End Web Developer program and React Developer program). Helped students debug issues. Performed UI requirements testing. Gave best practices tests. (part-time remote contract)
Worked in a small cross-functional group. As the main Front-End Developer in a 2-person development team, I worked on a search tool migration from Angular to React. The new source was written as a greenfield project. Our group worked quickly and productively. In addition to building feature enhancements and unit tests, I also did integration testing. (full-time remote contract)
Wrote and edited online help for an enterprise business application. Wrote API documentation. Created training materials for developers and administrators.
